Abia APC Renaissance Group

The attention of the Abia APC Renaissance Group has been drawn to the planned visit of the Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, to meet with Mr President on Tuesday, 2nd December 2025.

It is regrettable that after disregarding numerous efforts by the leadership of our great party to persuade him to return to the APC, Governor Otti now finds himself politically stranded following his suspension by the Labour Party. The Governor is currently moving from pillar to post in search of a political lifeline.

While we cannot dictate to our Party or to Mr President on the decisions they may consider appropriate, we respectfully urge Mr President to use this opportunity to seek clarity from the Governor on the following pressing questions:

1) Why is it that after spending over N85 billion on the renovation of public schools, Abia public schools still appear like schools in war-ravaged areas, while other states in the South East are constructing modern smart schools?

2) Why is it that with over N1.4 trillion in total revenue received by the state, there is still no iconic or impactful project to justify such enormous resources? Furthermore, why has the Governor continued to operate from his village despite spending over N88 billion on the cost of governance?

3) Why has Abia State failed to fully implement the national minimum wage, with workers still receiving salaries below N77, 000, and why does the state continue to owe pensions and gratuities?

The Abia APC Renaissance Group wishes to inform Mr President that Governor Otti has no "Peter Obi wave" anymore that contributed to his victory. Even, Pensioners, civil servants, and political actors who supported his emergence in 2023 have all withdrawn their support in disappointment.

The APC welcomes new members, but not liabilities. Once Governor Otti openly aligns with Mr President which he has consistently avoided he will lose the overwhelming majority of his remaining support base, which is largely made up of supporters of Mr Peter Obi. These same Peter Obi supporters who are also supporters of Otti, attack Mr President daily on social media, while Governor Otti privately gives assurances that he will single handedly deliver President Tinubu in the next election. The Governor knows such claims are impossible, but he engages in these tactics purely for his own political survival.

The Abia APC Renaissance Group remains committed to the growth, integrity and stability of our Party in Abia State and across Nigeria.

Signed

Just In: Ukwa Deserves More Than Empty Promises, Demands Real Development

Despite its significant contribution to Abia State’s economic strength through its oil resources, Ukwa has continued to grapple with poor infrastructure, inadequate social amenities, and limited government attention. Residents argue that decades of promises have not translated into meaningful development, leaving many communities facing challenges that require urgent intervention. The people of Ukwa are calling for fairness, improved representation, and tangible investments in roads, education, healthcare, and other critical sectors. They insist that their contributions to the state’s prosperity must be matched with genuine commitment and visible action from leaders.
