The grassroots suffer because the local government runs without funds.

A lot of pressure coming from our constituents in the 10 wards of Osisioma Ngwa local government, councilors going through depression as a result of demands from their people.

Our people are not asking for much, what they need are the basic things government supposed to do for them.

It's obvious that so many old people in different wards won't trust us again if we don't deliver most of our campaign promises.

The grassroots doesn't know or have access to the people at the state levels, but they have 100% access to their various councilors in their different wards.

We all know that a councilor doesn't have the right to execute a project as it's boldly written in the fourth schedule of the 1999 Constitution as amended but it seems that it's only in Abia state this section of the Constitution is implemented 100%.

I represent a very strong political ward called OSOKWA, they will definitely hold me accountable if I fail to deliver as a result of funds not coming to the local government as so many of my constituents are learned with how much Osisioma Ngwa as a local government do receive from federal government allocation monthly.

As the leader of the 7th Osisioma Ngwa legislative Council, I write to the good people of Osisioma to tell you that the 10 councilors of Osisioma Ngwa are ready to work effectively if they're given the ground to do so. Whatever you see any councilor is doing now in their various wards is either with their personal funds, a friend or a boss is helping them with funds.

We can't continue this way, our constituents doesn't want to hear that we are not the ones appropriating the local government funds and projects as everything is done at government house in Umuahia which is against what's clearly stated in the 1999 Constitution as amended and it's against the local government Act.

A councilor is the eyes through which the people at the grassroots sees what's been done in the state and the mouth that speaks for them in the local government but the system is runned in a way that councilors are almost useless as they're not recognized in so many of the today's Abia state functions.

Ndi Osisioma Ngwa the 10 councilors have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to turn things around for our people but the system doesn't allow us to perform effectively.

The funds allocated to Osisioma Ngwa is enough to make the good people of Osisioma Ngwa to know that the local government have the interest of the their people at heart but I want to clearly let Ndi Osisioma know that ABIA STATE CONTROL THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT MONEY AND WE DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO OUR MONTHLY ALLOCATIONS.

I'm the leader of the 7th Osisioma Ngwa legislative Council and the councilor representing the good people of Osokwa and I live in my village seeing my people everyday, I know the basic things they need.

Thanks.
