Calls for Sacking of Matawalle Politically Motivated ~ Sani

A former Senator for Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani has said the continuous calls for the sack of the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle is politically motivated and unnecessary.

‎Sani stated this in an X post on Wednesday.

‎Recall that President Bola Tinubu has received criticisms over his failure to remove Matawalle following Monday’s resignation of Badaru Abubakar on health grounds.

‎Calls for his resignation or sack have intensified since the resurfacing of a video showing the former Zamfara governor saying not all bandits were criminals.

‎But reacting to these calls, Sani said Matawalle has performed creditably, particularly in the handling of the Kebbi schoolgirls abduction saga, and should be appreciated rather than vilified.

‎Sani also hailed the appointment of Musa as the new Defence minister.
