Deputy Speaker Kalu Celebrates Former Abia Governor Ikpeazu at 61

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, PhD, CFR, has extended warm felicitations to the former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, on the occasion of his 61st birthday.

In a congratulatory message, Kalu, who represents Bende Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, lauded Ikpeazu for his remarkable leadership and enduring contributions to the peace and development of Abia State.

He recalled that during Ikpeazu’s tenure, the State enjoyed an atmosphere of peace, inclusiveness, and respect for diverse opinions, noting that the former Governor’s administration upheld the principles of democracy by allowing free expression and constructive criticism without fear of persecution.

Describing Ikpeazu as a humble and receptive leader, Kalu said his leadership style earned him the admiration of Abians and contributed to strengthening democratic values in the State.

The Deputy Speaker further acknowledged the strides made by the Ikpeazu administration in improving infrastructure and laying a strong foundation for sustainable development.

While joining the former Governor’s family, friends, political associates, and the people of Abia State to celebrate the milestone, Kalu prayed for Ikpeazu’s continued good health, long life, and greater accomplishments in service to humanity.
