Opposition Party Unsettle in Abia

Certain paid media contractors, acting as tools in the hands of desperate interests, have once again taken to peddling fake and misleading information aimed at confusing the public. Their latest fabrication falsely insinuates that the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has declared or is indicating interest in the 2027 Abia State governorship race. This claim is entirely unfounded, deliberately concocted to misinform the public and distract from the truth.

For the avoidance of doubt, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu is presently consumed by weighty national responsibilities. As Deputy Speaker, his focus remains firmly on defending, tackling, and advancing critical constitutional reforms and amendments designed to accommodate every Nigerian—irrespective of class, religion, social status, ethnicity, or political background. These reforms are aimed at strengthening democracy, deepening inclusion, and positioning Nigeria on the global stage as a nation committed to good governance and institutional credibility.

It is this growing national and international recognition of his legislative leadership and statesmanship that appears to unsettle some miscreants within Abia State. Rather than engage constructively, they resort to fear-driven propaganda, hoping to diminish his rising profile through misinformation and speculative politics. Such actions betray their anxiety and lack of confidence, not any ambition or declaration from the Deputy Speaker himself.

Let it be clearly stated: as of now, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu has not made any comment, declaration, or indication whatsoever regarding the Abia State governorship race in 2027.
