Hon. Chinedu Samuel Akpulonu (Popularly Known as Kachocho) Raises Concern Over Skyrocketing Rent in Aba.

Hon. Chinedu Samuel Akpulonu, popularly known as Kachocho, a true leader and servant of the people — known for his humility, passion, and dedication — has expressed deep concern over the alarming rate at which the cost of apartments and rooms in Aba is skyrocketing.

He lamented that many residents of Aba, the Enyimba City and economic hub of the nation, can no longer afford the malicious and unnecessary increase in house rents. Hon. Akpulonu described the situation as worrisome and unacceptable, stressing that decent housing and a modest standard of living are basic rights that every Aba South and Aba North resident deserves.

Consequently, he called on the Abia State House of Assembly to immediately intervene and address the issue by inviting relevant stakeholders — including the Nigerian Society of Engineers, landlords, business owners, lawyers, licensed estate surveyors, and other concerned parties — to an urgent meeting aimed at finding lasting solutions.

Hon. Akpulonu emphasized that the matter has become a serious public concern, as many families are being forced to relocate from Aba to their villages due to the unbearable cost of rent.
