In a statement released on his personal social media handle on Monday, Malami said the invitation was linked to the September 1, 2025, assault on his person and convoy. He explained that the development was part of ongoing investigations triggered by petitions, including the one he had earlier submitted to the DSS over threats to his life.“I can confirm that I have been invited by the Department of State Services to support investigation over the attack on my person and convoy in Kebbi State on the 1st of September, 2025,” Malami stated.

The former minister alleged that the petition was instigated by “opposition high-profile political elements” in Kebbi State, but expressed confidence in the DSS, commending the agency for the manner it had so far handled the inquiry.

“I must commend the DSS for the professional and transparent manner in which they have conducted their inquiry. I was treated with dignity and respect, and I remain committed to cooperating fully with the Department to ensure that their investigation is concluded successfully,” he added.

It may be recalled that the Governor of Kebbi State, Nasir Idris, accused Abubakar Malami of promoting what he described as “a terrorism agenda” disguised as politics.Governor Idris dismissed Malami’s allegations that the state government had imported mercenaries, calling the claims false, dangerous, and capable of undermining peace and stability in Kebbi State.

Just In: SMART SCHOOL OR SMART LOOTING? ANOTHER RECEIPT FROM IGBERE

This image is Elu-Okwe Primary School in Amaukwu Igbere, Bende LGA—a living, breathing school, not a rumour or propaganda. Yet the Abia State Government claimed it was demolished because it had been awarded for upgrade to a smart school. Today, no smart school exists. The roof is failing, classrooms leak, and pupils still run for cover whenever it rains. Despite community appeals for urgent renovation, intervention was halted on the grounds that the project had been “awarded.” Months later, nothing has happened. This raises serious questions about the state’s claim of spending ₦100 billion on public school repairs. Smart schools do not disappear, and infrastructure does not exist only on paper. Abia people are no longer asking for explanations—they are demanding results. Where are the smart schools?

The Office of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives has dismissed as false and misleading the Abia State Government’s claims concerning infrastructure projects attracted by Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu. The office clarified that the land along the Umuahia–Bende Road was communally donated, not allocated by the state government, and described allegations of unauthorized demolition of school facilities as baseless. It further accused the Otti administration of deliberate propaganda aimed at undermining genuine development efforts, while reaffirming the Deputy Speaker’s commitment to attracting critical infrastructure to Abia State in the interest of the people.
