NSSEC trains 100 FCT pupils in plumbing, tiling

The National Senior Secondary Education Commission on Thursday ended a two-week technical skills training for 100 secondary school students within the Federal Capital Territory.The programme, held at the Industrial Training Fund in Abuja, saw the students trained in Plaster of Paris design, tiling, plumbing, painting and decoration, solar panel installation, CCTV installation, catering, culinary skills and robotics.The Executive Secretary of NSSEC, Dr Tim Iyela, was represented by the Director of Teacher Development and Partnerships, Muhammed Salisu, at the closing ceremony.Iyela explained that the training was intended to equip students with entrepreneurial skills early in life.With the programme, Iyela said the beneficiaries are better positioned to innovate, compete and contribute meaningfully to national development.

“This programme, which commenced on 25th August 2025, has brought together 100 senior secondary school students selected from across the schools within the Federal Capital Territory. “This initiative is one of NSSEC’s contributions towards the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
