Paul Biya Wins Cameroon’s Presidential Election Amid Disputes
Cameroon’s 92-year-old President Paul Biya has been declared winner of the country’s presidential election, extending his more than four decades in power.
The Constitutional Council announced the results on Monday, confirming Biya’s victory with 53.66% of the votes, while his closest rival, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, garnered 35.19%.

However, the outcome has sparked widespread protests and allegations of electoral irregularities in major cities, as opposition groups rejected the results.
With this victory, Biya — the world’s oldest serving head of state — is set to begin his eighth consecutive term, keeping him in office until 2032.
