Religion: Church Must Go Beyond Jets, Mansions, Focus On Its Core Message – Ezekwesili

Ezekwesili said this at the Jerry Eze Foundation Business Grant Award Ceremony in Abuja on Wednesday.

Former minister of finance Oby Ezekwesili has asked the church to go beyond material things and focus more on its core message of salvation.

Ezekwesili said this at the Jerry Eze Foundation Business Grant Award Ceremony in Abuja on Wednesday.

“The message cannot just be about ‘I bought a car’ or ‘I built a house’. What would it profit them to gain all of that and lose their souls? The message has to be deeper because the deep calls unto deep,” she told the gathering.

“How is the church of God turning hidden by worrying about who built the biggest house, who has the largest private jet, who has the—No, no, no. All of those things are necessary for the work, but they are not the work. So, the church must deepen its message.”
