Ubani Dannie, by focusing so heavily on Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, you are unintentionally creating the impression that Gov. Alex Otti, Senator Akobundu, Senator Abaribe, and other key stakeholders are doing nothing in the effort to secure Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s freedom.

Please stop demarketing Gov. Otti or making him appear powerless. Likewise, avoid portraying our senators and other leaders as irrelevant or ineffective. That is neither accurate nor helpful.

The release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will come from a united, pan-Igbo effort—through collective strategies, quiet diplomacy, discreet meetings, and coordinated engagements. Not everything happening behind the scenes is meant for public consumption, but that does not mean nothing is being done.

Your persistent hyping of the Deputy Speaker on this matter creates the impression that he alone holds the key to Nnamdi Kanu’s freedom. It suggests you are assigning extraordinary powers to Utabiri Bende, while making Gov. Otti and others appear like they have failed. That narrative is misleading and unnecessarily divisive.

I strongly advise caution and restraint. A lot is happening beyond the public eye. Let us encourage unity, not create unhealthy competition among those genuinely working toward the same goal.

In their sermons, religious leaders emphasized the importance of peace, compassion, and social responsibility, urging both leaders and citizens to uphold unity and contribute to national development.
