Osun 2026: APC releases timetable, fixes nomination fee at N50m

The All Progressives Congress on Tuesday released the schedule of activities and fees for the 2026 governorship election in Osun State, detailing timelines for nomination, screening, delegate congresses, and primary elections.In a statement signed by the National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, and issued from the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, the APC said the election process will commence with the notice of election to the State Chapter on Friday, 3rd October 2025, while the update of the membership register will run from Monday, 20th October to Friday, 31st October 2025.“

Members whose names appear on the Register and are up to date in paying their membership dues over the past year up to February 2025 will be eligible to vote and be voted for,” the statement said.The timetable also highlighted key dates for the sale and submission of nomination and expression of interest forms.“The sale of Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms commences on Wednesday, 12th November 2025.

“The last day for submission of completed Nomination Form, Expression of Interest Forms, and accompanying documents & submission of Delegate Forms is Monday, 1st December 2025,” the statement added. The party also clarified arrangements for women, persons with disabilities, and youth aspirants.“Female Aspirants and Persons with Disabilities are to purchase the Expression of Interest Form while the Nomination Form is free.

“Youths aged 25 to 40 are to purchase the Expression of Interest Form with a 50% discount on the Nomination Form,” Argungu stated.According to the schedule, the fees for the governorship race are, expression of Interest Form: ₦10,000,000, Form: ₦40,000,000, Total for Governorship: ₦50,000,000, Delegate Form: ₦5,000Forms will be available at the APC Directorate of Organization in Abuja. “Expression of Interest Form and Nomination Form will be available for purchase at the Directorate of Organization, 2nd Floor, APC National Headquarters, No. 40 Blantyre Street, Wuse II, Abuja,” the statement added.

The schedule also included procedures for delegates’ election. “Members to elect delegates will be financial members of the Party for not less than three months before the delegate congress at the rate of 200 per month,” the party said.Other milestones outlined in the timetable include screening of aspirants, publication of results, appeal periods, and the conduct of the governorship primary.“

Congress to ratify the result of the Gubernatorial Primary Election in compliance with Article 84 (4): (b) & (c) of the 2022 Electoral Act (as amended),” the statement noted.For further inquiries, the party directed members to contact the Directorate of Organization on 0803-261-8346.

The timetable and fees set the framework for APC to conclude its candidate selection well ahead of the 2026 Osun governorship election.
