Politics: Amaechi Support Group Rejects ADC Primary Outcome In Imo

Rotimi Amaechi support group has rejected the outcome of the party’s presidential primary that declared former Vice President Atiku Abubakar the winner in Imo State, describing the exercise as a 'sham'.

The group, Movement for Amaechi’s Presidency, led by Chigozie Alex, said what was witnessed was not a direct primary but a secret selection in connivance with Atiku Abubakar's agents, who moved to hidden locations to conduct the entire process without other aspirants' agents, and without any regard for the ADC constitution or the Electoral Act.

The group alleged that no elections were held in most wards across the state. It added that registered ADC members who came out to vote were turned away because there were no officials, no materials, and no polling units.

They said that where any activity took place, their accredited agents were not given the locations, and they were kept in the dark while a secret process was conducted in their absence. See less
