The APC Aba South LGA Congress has marked a historic milestone with the election of an outstanding woman leader to steer the affairs of women at the local government level.
The event, held yesterday, celebrated the rise of a woman of substance, signaling the party’s commitment to inclusivity and empowering women within its ranks.
The Congress was graced by prominent political figures, including Hon. Barr. Emeka Wogu CON, who was ably represented by Mr. Martins Onwumelu, and the former Minority Leader of the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Abraham U. Oba (KSJI), popularly known as Onye Uwaoma. Other dignitaries present included Dr. C.C. Nwogu, Hon. Chinedu Akpulonu 'Kachocho'(represented by Elder Chijioke Wogu), Hon. Sunday Udeagha, Hon. Hope Ogbonna, Hon. Princess P. Nwaobilo, and Hon. Darlington Ujumunna.
Their presence underscored the importance of the Congress to the party’s structure and future.
The event was further strengthened by the participation of executive officers from INEC, the Police, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, ensuring that the Congress proceeded in a calm, seamless, and transparent manner.

Deconness Chinenye Chioma Owuamananm, popularly known as “Chibest,” expressed her gratitude to the Congress organizers with her trademark cheerful smile. She pledged loyalty to party activities, promised to actively involve women leaders across the wards and the entire LGA, and affirmed her commitment to ensuring the successful re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
